- Vacuum technology and mass spectrometers
- Ionization sources: principles and applications of different sources (ICP, EI, CI, PTR, MALDI, ESI and other sources at atmospheric pressure, SIMS)
- Analyzers: principles and specifications of different analyzers (B, Q , IT, OT, TOF, FT-ICR)
- Ion mobility mass spectrometry (IM-MS)
- Detectors
- Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS): instrumentation, interpretation of MS/MS spectra, targeted MS/MS
- Case studies: publications
Compétences à acquérir
The objective is to acquire an expertise in the different mass spectrometry techniques and their applications.
- Be able to select the most appropriate MS equipment and MS-based strategy to achieve an analytical goal.
- Implement MS and MS/MS analyses.
- Handle and interpret MS and MS/MS data.
