Description du contenu de l'enseignement
The teaching is done in the form of an integrated course addressing the following aspects:
- mass and isotopic balance (infinite or limited size systems)
- equations and graphical representations of mixtures between reservoirs
- equilibrium and incremental processes
- chemical dynamics of a reactive system
- residence time
- reactivity of an element in a reservoir
- chemical attenuation or accumulation in a reservoir
- stationary and transient states
- chemical dynamics of several connected reservoirs.
Compétences à acquérir
This course is designed to familiarize students with the concepts of geochemical and isotopic tracing to determine the dynamics of geochemical systems. In particular, the lessons are based on the mastery of the notions of residence time of an element in its reservoir, of stationary and transient states, as well as the numerical formulation of mass and isotopic balances. The competences are - the analysis of data - integration and simplification of complex natural problems and their writing into equations. At the end of this course you will be able to :
- Carry out a mass and isotopic balance in one or more connected reservoirs. Determine if the system studied is in a stationary or transient state, in which case define the state towards which the system tends to evolve and in how long.
- To have a critical mind on the data sets acquired in the field as well as on the interpretations that are made of them
